10/17/2010 WNYFC Membership Meeting At Lancaster Airport President Chuck DiBella called the meeting to order in the Club’s maintenance hanger at 2:30 PM with 21 members present. Chuck thanked the members for helping with the aircraft wash and wax and for staying for the meeting. He also thanked Karl Oesterle for providing a delicious fried chicken lunch with drinks and munchies. Chuck reported that Mark Kezman is upgrading the avionics in N8889E. This includes installing a Garmin 300XL GPS, a four-place intercom, a master avionics switch, and a 406 MHZ ELT. The # 2 radio, the ADF, and the DME in 89E are old units and not worth keeping . They will be removed. Chuck informed the members that the BOD decided that N2259Q would have its engine overhauled when 89E is back on line. We will purchase a zero time-overhauled engine from Pen Yann Aero. It will be a five-week turn around to get the new engine from Pen Yann, plus week to get the engine installed. During the down time 59Q will have its annual inspection. The engine removal will begin about the middle of November. The Piper 140 brake problem has been fixed. The brake system had air in the brake lines and they had to be bled and refilled with hydraulic oil and nitrogen. Mike Skuce has volunteered to be the Club’s Web Master for the Club’s web site. Chuck congratulated Tom Rogge for passing his private pilot flight test, and Greg Lurry and Axel Neff for their first solo flight. He introduced new members Bill Borcowski and Bill Hauth, and then told the members that we will hold the line on dues and flying rates for the foreseeable future. Treasurer Karl Oesterle reported that we have $34000.00 in the bank and we in good financial shape. He said that lower interest rates helped our keep costs down. Most of these funds will be used for the 59Q overhaul and for the avionics upgrade to 89E. No other business was transacted and the meeting adjourned 3:30 PM. Respectfully submitted, Secretary Tony Mecurio
