Club History
The Club started in January 1967 with five or six members and a Piper Tri-pacer. It began operations as the “UFO” Flying Club, based at Akron Airport (9G3).
In July 1968 the name was changed to the Western New York Flying Club and it was incorporated as a Not For Profit Corporation.
During the “70s” and “80s” it had grown to seven aircraft and over 70 members. During that time the Club has owned a variety of aircraft including:
Presently the Club has over 40 members. All four aircraft are hangared at Buffalo Lancaster Airport (KBQR), and are insured for hull and liability insurance.. The maintenance is supervised by an A.I. who is a Club member.
